The port of Wisbech and its yacht harbour are seven nautical miles up-stream from where the River Nene enters the Wash. It would be difficult to find a mooring facility with better shelter. Being by the town itself, Wisbech Yacht Harbour offers yachtsmen and women an enviable facility and a comprehensive range of services.
Visiting boats are welcome. But due to the rates of tide and current, a sound passage plan is recommended that takes into account the optimum time for arrival. For advice before you travel, you can call the harbour office on 01945 588059] or visit www.fenland.gov.uk – Port and yacht harbour.
- 2/2.5 metres minimum draft depending on berth
- bottled gas available from nearby suppliers within walking distance
Before you being your voyage, you must arrange for the road bridge at Sutton Bridge to swing (maximum air draft at MHWS 3.7m). See Nene Port’s timetables for details.
